If your life appears to be too boring for the regular use of a GoPro camera (and it probably will, as long as you’re not an enthusiastic snowboarder, surfer or base jumper), just take it underwater. The GoPro is a great underwater camera, as long as you are not super critical about image quality. Of course the GoPro will not replace your average DSLR, but it gives you very decent results without much effort and at a reasonable pricing.
In Kos, I tried out my new GoPro Hero 3 Black underwater, mostly for filming. The three images below are frames taken out of movie clips and run through some Lightroom post-edit action. Taken into account that they are not even “real” pictures and the GoPro would probably have performed even better in picture mode, I am really satisfied with how the pictures turned out. This will definitely not be the last time I use it to explore these underwater worlds.
