During my employment time in Switzerland, I started to get the most of this beautiful country. Two weeks ago I took a trip to Alpstein, visiting lake Seealpsee – one of the most beautiful sceneries I’ve ever seen. The water gives a completely mirror-like reflection, and the characteristic mountains add a great scenery. From there, I took the hike to the famous Äscher/Wildkirchli, luckily not that crowded during the week, and just a lovely spot. In the afternoon, I took another two-hour hike to Fälensee, a lake embedded in a beatiful mountain scenery as well. Quite some sights for one day!
Then, on the weekend, I had planned a trip to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn – unfortunately I couldn’t have picked worse weather conditions, resulting in an extremely foggy and rainy day up in the mountains. Still quite the experience, but not great for pictures. On sunday though, I continued the trip to Kandersteg, close to lake Oeschinen. Weather was still moody, but in this case it added a great overall atmosphere and I loved hiking in these conditions around the lake. Switzerland really is one of the most beautiful countries, and I’m feeling very grateful to be able to experience this right now.
