Beginning of September, I went to Zermatt to experience the Matterhorn in all of its beauty. Lucky me, I picked about the worst weekend of all summer to schedule that trip, and up in the mountains it was foggy and rainy all day. Still quite the experience, but not exactly what I had in mind photography-wise.
Since the Matterhorn somehow got stuck in my head, I couldn’t help myself but to return two weeks later and hope for better conditions, even planning to stay overnight in the mountains in the georgous Fluhalp near Stellisee – and yes, that did work out. I had a great experience hiking the five lakes trail, spending sunset and sunrise at Stellisee, and visiting Riffelsee the other day. The surrounding mountainscape in Zermatt, where the Matterhorn shows its characteristic peak at most of the times is really one uncomparable experience. It’s a place I would definitely return back to, and I’m very happy with the results.
