Photography is a lot about conditions, in the first place, and what you make of them, in the second. The first Easter holiday, my wife and I spent the early morning at Bavaria’s most famous lake, lake Eibsee. For over a year now, I’m striving for the perfect picture from this place – clear skies, golden light and a mirror-like, calm water surface for perfect reflections. Even though the forecast was great, strong winds welcomed us. Reflection game was off. Still, it was great to experience the magical light at this place for the first time, and with some longer exposures I could at least manage to get a creamy water surface.
We continued our day at Partnachklamm, which I had already visited some 15 years back, but it was great to experience the pure force of the rushing waters and sharp rocks again. And now, there’s only four weeks left until our trip to Iceland begins – can’t wait.
